Hey, guys. Adam here with americanmuscle.com, and today we're taking a quick look at and installing the 1-Inch Billet Aluminum Hub-centric Wheel Spacers available for the 2015 and newer Mustang. Now if you're the owner of an S550 and you're looking to get a slightly wider rear end stance for your Mustang about 1-inch, you can use these wheel spacers to adapt your wheels to push them out a little bit. They're also a great choice for the guys who've picked up a wheel that might have a slightly more positive offset pushing that wheel back into the wheel well a little bit more, these instead of picking a new wheels with different offsets, this way you can adapt it, push it out about 25.4 millimeters or 1-inch to make that look like a flush fitment or a slightly more poked fitment. There are several other options out in the category if you're looking for something a little different, but if you need that 1-inch, this is a good choice. Now this one, in particular, is made from a billet aluminum construction, a solid billet aluminum, so it's built a holdup on your daily use. If you're beating the crap out of your car, these things definitely hold up. Now they are meant to be used with a five-bolt lug pattern, a 5 by 114.3-millimeter or the 5 by 4.5 inch. That's the lug pattern these are meant to be with. Now if you have a slightly different one, then this isn't gonna be for you. Now it's also coming with a 14-millimeter right hand 1.5 thread pitch lugs which will adapt to your factory studs. You are then going to use your lug nuts that you currently have on your vehicle, whether it's factory or aftermarket that'll fit on these studs. It has the exact same thread pitch as your factory studs. As far as these go, they are hub-centric and they work with factory or aftermarket wheels, so it really works universally with most if not all wheels on the market. Now we're gonna be installing these with our Rovos that we have on the rear end here and as you can see we've got it on our hub and it has a completely flush fitment. Now guys, if you're mounting this to your hub and there's rust or any dirt or anything that would prohibit this from seating completely flush, make sure you clean that off, get that out of the way so it's a safe fitment. You're gonna be torquing down these lugs to 30 foot-pounds in a star pattern and then torquing them down to your factory torque specs. In our case is going to be 100-foot pounds and I'll take you through that in just a little bit. Then you're gonna torque your studs down the exact same way with your wheels installed. The price tag for this set is about 80 bucks and by set, it comes with two for the rear. Now, these are not meant to be used in the front whatsoever. You can end up with some damaged hubs, some damaged wheels. You can also damage the spacer itself on the front end, so really for safekeeping, you want to use these on the rear only. There are other options out there for the front. This is not gonna be the case and it's gonna be a very simple one out of three wrenches on our difficulty meter. You do not want to use an impact gun. You're going to only use a torque wrench. That is literally all you need. I'm gonna be taking off our wheels using air tools and impact gun, but when it comes to the installation, no impact guns. You don't want to cause any damage here. Just use a torque wrench. Took about 30 minutes from start to finish to do both sides. It's super simple. Let's get to it. Tools used in this install include a torque wrench, impact gun, 22-millimeter socket, and a 7/8 socket. First up here guys, we got to get our car up in the air to remove our one rear wheel. What we're gonna do is put ours on the lift, but if you're working in the driveway at home, just make sure you're properly supporting the vehicle on jack stands before you do anything. So let's get this up in the air and get that wheel off. All right, now we can grab our lug. We're gonna use air tools to get these five lugs off. All right. Now you can grab your spacer. You're gonna set that over the factory studs. Now what you're going to need to do is seat it all the way up against the rotor. If you have rust or anything that's prohibiting it from seating completely flush, you want to clean that off. Once it seats flush, these lug nuts that come pre-installed over the studs on the adapter aren't actually gonna go on those studs. They're gonna go in your factory studs. So we're gonna remove those and install them on your factory stud. Do that for all five. Now guys, once you have these hand tight, you're gonna grab your 22-millimeter socket with a thin wall or a 7/8 socket with a thin wall to fit inside of these slots to tighten down the lugs provided in the kit on your factory studs to 30 foot-pounds. Once all of them are tightened down to 30 foot-pounds in a star pattern, star pattern being top, cross, cross. You want to do it just in a star pattern that evenly distributes the torque. Now once you do 30 foot-pounds for all of them, torque them down to factory spec. In our case 100 foot-pounds. Refer to your manual for the factory wheel lug torque specs. Perfect. At this point, we can throw our wheel back on and do the same thing to our factory lugs. All right, so now I've got our lugs here. I'm gonna tighten these down by hand all the way down then we're gonna go 30 foot-pounds, then our factory spec. Now, the spacer's install instructions in the kit do clearly state you don't want to use an impact gun for this. Put them down by hand, use your torque wrench to 30, reset it to 100 and do it again. You just want to make sure you're doing this exactly how it should be done from the manual, from the factory specifications just so you don't cause any damage to the hub, the spacer itself or your wheel. As you can see, we put this on no problem with the hub-centric spacer. There's absolutely zero clearance problems between the studs on the inside. They're just the perfect fitment. All right, so now we got them hand tight. Let's do 30-foot pounds. Perfect. Now you can repeat this exact same process for the other side. That's going to wrap up my review and install for the 1-inch Billet Aluminum Hub-centric Wheel Spacers available for the 2015 and newer Mustang. You can get yours right here at americanmuscle.com.
