This Comp Cams Xtreme Energy Cam is an excellent choice for both street and strip performance applications. With increased responsiveness and a step up in duration, more horsepower and torque can be felt from 2600-6500 RPMs. As an added bonus, this Xtreme Energy Cam will give your 5.0 a noticeable change in idle that is louder than stock, but that's not overbearing or obnoxious.

Calibration Required. Installation of this Comp Cam Camshaft will require custom tuning to reprogram the vehicles computer (ECU) for operation. By reprogramming your Mustangs ECU, you will be able to realize the full power potential that this Camshaft has to offer.

Not CARB Certified. This Camshaft is not CARB certified at this time, therefore it is not legal for use in California or other states adopting California emission standards. Not legal for use on pollution controlled motor vehicles; intended for off road use only.

Limited Warranty. Competition Cams, Inc. warrants that all of its products are free from defects in material and workmanship, and against excessive wear for a period of 12 months from date of purchase. This limited warranty shall cover only the original purchaser. This warranty is valid on camshafts only where new lifters and proper valve springs are used. Application. This Comp Cams XE282HR Camshaft is designed for use on 1986-1995 Mass Air equipped 5.0L V8 Mustangs with modifications such as aftermarket heads, intake manifold, exhaust headers and steeper 3.73 rear gears.

Technical Note. This camshaft requires a minimum of a 3.73 rear-end gears and a custom tune. Automatic transmissions will require at least a 2500 RPM stall converter.
