Hi guys, Justin here with AmericanMuscle.com, checking out the Exedy Mach 350 Stage 1 Clutch. This stage 1 clutch is going to be perfect for someone looking for a little bit more clamping force versus their OEM clutch. This is the clutch that we have installed on our ’07 GT, and instantly I can tell you that the pedal feel is very close to stock while that clamping force has definitely been increased. There’s no more slippage whatsoever, especially when you do a little downshift, and get into it a little bit. So that’s the basic breakdown of this clutch, but we do have a rep from Exedy back at the ‘shop at AmericanMuscle headquarters, so we’re going to head back there now, talk to him and get a little bit more of a detailed breakdown of what makes this clutch so unique. We’re very fortunate to have Evan from Exedy here with us today to tell us a little bit more about these clutches. So, Evan, what’s so special about these clutches? “Well, Exedy being one of the world’s largest clutch manufacturers, we are able to design and engineer our products from the ground up. So by doing so, all of our performance products are built brand new; they are not a remanufactured OEM product.” That’s awesome. Can you tell us a little bit more about the construction? “Yeah, with this, we tooled up for a new cover stamping, which is 3/16” thick. It’s made it to a higher clamp load diaphragm spring, and the cover stamping allows for zero cover deflection with the higher clamp load. On the clutch disk, we have an increased torsional dampening spring on the clutch disc, as well as a new, increased friction coefficient disk material which has a higher friction coefficient than OEM, so it’s much more “grabby” than an OEM clutch disk.” Cool, so it can pretty much handle whatever a typical driver or minor bolt-on car can throw at it? “Exactly. One unique attribute with it is that the release load on it is going to be very light, so it’s going to feel like an OEM clutch, and it’s going to be a smooth engaging clutch, just like an OEM clutch.” Alright, thanks for stopping by, Evan, and check out all of Exedy’s great clutches right here at AmericanMuscle.com.

It's recommended that you add an SR Performance Braided Stainless Steel Hydraulic Clutch Line during your new clutch install. Stock plastic clutch lines can fail during aggressive driving. Stainless steel clutch lines help prevent gear lockout and provide superior clutch pedal feel, even under the toughest conditions.
