Hey, guys. Stephanie with AmericanMuscle.com, here with my review of the MMD Carbon Fiber Roof Spoiler for all 2005 to 2014 S197 Mustangs. The MMD Carbon Fiber Roof Spoiler is going to be a good option for those S197 coupe owners out there that are looking for a way to set their car apart. The roof spoilers offer a quick and easy way to enhance the exterior appearance in a non-permanent way, so no drilling or issues with paint, and it's a good option for someone who's looking for style right out of the box. This is a carbon fiber piece, so it's not like it needs to be painted to look good. And in my opinion, it's a small piece that works well to add just a little something more without having to get crazy modifying. The roof spoiler is going to sit right at the top of the back window along the roof line. So it helps to get what I consider a dynamic element to the roof line. You can see that it's a shaped piece. So it's not just a flat piece of carbon on your back window. Its contour sort of has a little style, but it's not going to impact visibility at the rear window. It's a low profile, and it still creates a different type of look at the same time, a sleek, aerodynamic look. And I mentioned this before, but this piece is 100% carbon fiber. Carbon fiber does create a unique and distinct look, and it's not something that can be copied. Trust me, nothing looks like real carbon. But it has other benefits, too. The strength-to-weight ratio that carbon fiber has is much better than other materials. It isn't a front lip or splitter or anything like that, but this piece is going to be seeing wind resistance while it's posted up on your back window. So you're going to want a strong material that can handle that. It has a stiffness to it, but it still has high heat tolerance and resistance at the same time, which is good for you daily drivers. Carbon fiber also has good corrosion resistance as well, and one thing I will say, though, is if you really want this piece to look brand new and keep its color over time, I would keep it waxed. The wax will prevent sun fade and will keep it looking fresh and brand new over time. If you don't wax it, sometimes you can get a lot of sun fade, and then you'll have a dry carbon-looking piece instead of a nice, dark and shiny-looking, wet carbon look.As far as price, general disclaimer, but carbon fiber is always going to be pricey. Comes out of the box ready to go. You don't have to proper paint, and this will cost about $280. If you really dig this look but the carbon's a little out of your price range, MMD does have a matte black roof spoiler that's the same design but a different material so it costs less.Another great thing about this roof spoiler is the install. I'm not sure it can get any easier than this. You're looking at spending about 15 minutes, and I'm going to call it a one out of three wrenches on the scale, even though you won't need any tools to get this done. To start the install, you're going to wanna make sure that the rear window is as clean as possible, and I mean no bugs, or grime, or any of that. And like I mentioned earlier, if it were me, I would throw a coat of wax on the spoiler before the install.Once the window is clean, use the supplied alcohol prep pads to prep the very top of the window where the 3M tape will be making contact. After that, use the supplied adhesion promoter and run a bit around the very top of the window. This will help to make sure that the connection between the 3M and the window will not fail and will be solid. Next, you flip the roof spoiler over and peel the backing off of the 3M tape. And then it's just a matter of lining the spoiler up to the very top of the window and firmly pressing down to create a seal. You really only have one chance of lining this thing up correctly. So if you have an extra set of hands to help you out, that might make things easier here.I would let this sit and cure for a little while before taking off down the highway. And I would give it at least 24 hours before you wash your car just to make sure that you're giving things enough time to create a good bond.Wrapping things up here, this is a carbon fiber roof spoiler from MMD, and it's a quick and easy way to do some exterior mods. Gives an aerodynamic design that has a completely unique look thanks to the material and the design. Gonna go ahead and say that it looks great by itself or paired with other mods, and it's going to work for all 2005 to 2014 coupes.
