    Description

500 HP Rated. Is your modded 1996-1997 Mustang GT in need of a heavy duty automatic transmission that can handle the power you want to add? Then you need to upgrade to the Performance Automatic Street/Strip AODE Transmission. This AODE Street/Strip Transmission is the perfect replacement upgrade for your old automatic and is capable of handling up to 500 horsepower, making it ideal for high-performance applications.

Built Better than Ford Tough. The Performance Automatic modified AODE Transmission is equipped with heavy duty clutches and servo, high performance bands and a new steel pan, in addition to the street/strip valve body. With the tweaks made by Performance Automatic, your Mustang GT will have crisp shifts, improved thrust capacities and endure a longer life.

Application. The Performance Automatic AODE Automatic Transmission is specifically designed for use in the 1996 to 1997 GT Mustangs that came with the AODE transmission.

Please Note. In 1997, Ford changed their transmission from AODE to the 4R70W. To ensure which transmission came in your GT, you will need to check your tail shaft housing. If you have a "W" cast into the housing, you have the 4R70W transmission. If you do not, you have the AODE transmission.
